Open Claude and sign in
Open the downloaded file, finish the Mac installation, then launch Claude from your Applications folder. Sign in with the Claude account you already use.

Choose a project folder when Claude asks. An empty folder is fine, and you do not need GitHub.

Make sure Claude answers
Paste this small test into the Code tab. Claude should reply and name the folder you selected.
